Mfg. in England with serial number having notable space between "7" and "3". Caliber marking on barrel is "308" and most references list its caliber as "7.62" implying that it is the Nato caliber. Known for its superior accuracy primarily due to its specially designed action that has 4 locking lugs (same diameter as bolt body) and an extremely short lock time due to the firing pin being powered by Belleville spring washers rather than a conventional spring; this feature causes user comments of "hard bolt handle lift". Other than match rifles, the company is world reknown for its accurate sniper rifles. Top of action has integral full length scope mounting grooves plus 4 drilled and tapped holes for additional mountings. Large black synthetic bolt knob and adjustable 2 stage trigger; no safety. Single shot action with solid receiver bottom is glass bedded into free rifle style walnut stock having exceptional buttstock figure. Stock has ventilated forend with full floating barrel, Anschutz style relieved pistol grip with palm swell, nicely designed adjustable comb and adjustable aluminum buttplate with grooved rubber pad. Large natural finished aluminum trigger guard and forend accessory rail. Very smooth action functioning and fine ergonomics. Great target rifle that is very difficult to come by in the US. CONDITION: barrel exterior has scattered light spots of staining. Some occasional very light stock marks. Bore is near excellent. (25-3713/NW). MODERN. $1,000-1,500.
